What if I am allergic to or want to avoid a specific food?

The Meal Planner currently offers three intolerance settings that can be activated within your account: soy, gluten, and nuts. If you turn any of these settings on, your recipes will not include these types of foods.

If you want to avoid certain foods, we recommend:

  • swapping out any meals containing them and replacing them with another recipe
  • choosing to omit these ingredients/foods directly from the recipe
  • substituting them with other similar foods of preference

When searching the Recipe Box, you can type -{NAME FOOD(S)} to search for all recipes that do not include those ingredients. Check out our Search/Filter article for more information!

Good news! We will be releasing a new filters feature in the months ahead, providing a convenient way to exclude certain ingredients from recipes search. Once your specific selections are made, only the recipes that do not feature these ingredients will be available for your viewing and adding to your menus.

Additional categories (cuisine, meal type, flavor type, etc.) will be included for easy customizing also. Keep an eye out for a future update!
